2010 Ready to Run 2yo Sale Trial Times

The Ready To Run 2yo trials were held at Ashburton Raceway on Tuesday 14th September and resulted in some very fast times being recorded.

In all 70 horses trialled and 56 of them ran under a minute for the 800 metres. There were 23 2yo’s that bettered 57 seconds for the 800m while 24 bettered 27 seconds for the final 400m.

Fastest time of the day went to Marble Ridge (Lot 76), the Malcolm Shinn trained Courage Under Fire – Seacrest Franco colt with times of 54.9 and 25.8. Incidentally Courage Under Fire also produced last years superstar trialist Courageous Annie. The purchaser of that horse Darryl Graham was on course again to watch this year’s 2yo’s in action and reported that he is very pleased with the progress of Courageous Annie.

Equal fastest quarter (25.8) went to Caesar’s Bardon the Greg Payne trained Julius Caesar – Margaret’s Last colt. He ran over the 800m in 55.5 seconds.

Not to be outdone fastest filly over 800m (55.2) was Mrs Devine, the Michael House trained Christian Cullen – Countess Caroline filly while the fastest over 400m (26.0) was the Laurence Hanrahan trained Emma Maguire, a filly by Dream Away out of Dame Nellie.

The trotters also showed their wares with the star being Armed Force. Trained by Alan Clark in Mosgiel the Thanksgiving – Stylish Voss gelding ran over 800m in 59.8 and 400m in 29.7.

The Ready To Run sale is to be held at Addington Raceway on Wednesday October 13th commencing at 1pm.
