Sales horses were to the fore again in Australia with the Big6 Hunter Cup (Group 1) raced at Tabcorp Park Melton being taken out by Stunin Cullen and the quinella being rounded off by Smiling Shard. But for the fact that Im Themightyquinn, who was catalogued but hadn’t come up good enough to make it to the sales it would have been a sales trifecta.

Also that night Matt Maguire and Major Mark filled third and fourth places respectively in the Group 1 Victoria Derby.

In the Australian Trotting Championship Final, the third Group 1 event of the night, PGG Wrightson Sales can lay claim to another success. Let Me Thru, the winner and one of the favourites for the upcoming Interdominion Trotting Championships at Addington, is a son of Invasion’s Pride, a $30,000 purchase at the 2000 Australasian Classic Yearling Sale in Auckland.
